Winnie Roberts

Guinnevere (Winnie) Roberts leads The Pew Charitable Trusts’ international conservation unit, where she works with Pew’s international environment campaigns to protect ocean biodiversity, establish large-scale marine reserves, improve fisheries management, combat illegal fishing, prevent ocean plastics, and protect coastal wetlands and Australia’s Outback. With a PhD in zoology and BA in political science, Winnie has worked on a wide range of science policy issues, from the regulation of genetically modified organisms to ocean conservation. Before joining Pew, Winnie served as director of multilateral affairs for the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, working to save and improve the lives of individuals affected by HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria.
